Back British farming
01 Oct 2019
British farming contributes £122 billion to the British economy each year as well as creating 3.8 million jobs. But that's not all. British farmers have a vital role to play in protecting and enhancing the great British countryside and operate in accordance with world-leading welfare standards for their animals.
Whether or not you live in a farming community, you’re guaranteed to be impacted by their work – whether you’re buying and cooking seasonal British veg, preparing a delicious Sunday roast or making a cup of tea, British farmers flavour our everyday life.
If you’re from a rural community you’ll know this better than most; watching the fields change as the crops grow, winding up the windows during muck spreading and catching glimpses of new life on the hillsides during lambing season all mark our progress through the year.
We appreciate all the hard work (including the long hours and very early mornings) of our British farmers – which is why we’re encouraging all our customers to join in together to back British farming.
Here are some ways you can start to back British farming today. Don’t forget to look for the Red Tractor logo on food and drinks you buy and the British Lion on eggs.
